Carivu
At Tenafly Dental Associates, we believe in investing in technology that benefits our patients. Carivu is a detection device that uses transillumination technology to support the identification of cavities.
- Carivu has been proven to identify cavities better then x-rays. It also enables us to determine how big the cavity is and whether to restore the tooth or keep an eye on it.
- It uses no radiation and is therefore ideal for pregnant women and people who are adverse to x-rays.
- Our patients can see what we see. They are able to visualize these images and gain insight into their condition.
Intraoral Camera
Our new dental camera can magnify the surface of your teeth and gums up to 25 times and let you see the inside your mouth in vivid detail.
Using this camera, we can easily spot tooth defects and problems with your gums that might otherwise be a real challenge to see – even with the brightest overhead light.
Digital X-rays
Our x-rays are fully digital. They use less radiation then film x-rays. Digital x-rays are clearer and they can be viewed on the computer screen which allows our patients to better understand their conditions.
Quiet Handpieces
Our handpieces are ultra quiet and provide less vibration and noise than traditional dental drills. This allows your dental visits to be shorter and more manageable.
Electronic Records
Using Electronic Records we are able to access patient information quickly and accurately. By reducing the need for paper, electronic records are great for the environment.

Our treatment rooms come equipped with flat screen tvs. Our patients can enjoy watching from numerous channels to make their visits as comfortable as possible.
Automatic Post-Op Instructions
Have you ever forgotten what instructions your doctor gave you after a procedure? At our practice, patients receive emails the day of a procedure detailing instructions for post-operative care. The emails also detail what is normal and abnormal to feel after their specific treatment.
